Since I can remember I've gone to church. My parents are both Christians and taught me to love Jesus as I grew up. I accepted Christ when I was in Jr. High. I had an amazing time in my high school ministry and that experience drove me to pursue a career as a high school pastor.
I went to Biola University where I got my B.A in Christian Education and a Minor in Biblical Studies. After graduation, I worked in various Orange County churches as a youth pastor and worship leader for about six years. Approximately four years ago, I felt a calling toward law enforcement.
Based on that calling I decided to make a drastic career change and became a police officer. Working as a police officer gives me the opportunity to see people at their best and worst any given day. My Christian background strengthens me each day as I put on the uniform, focus on justice and enforce the law.
I am an athletic person who enjoys competitive sports. Soccer is my favorite, I have played since I was kid. About a year ago I got the itch to try triathlons and committed to start training for my first race, the 2008 Auburn International Triathlon (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run). I focused my workouts on swimming, biking and running -- training hard in preparation for the upcoming race. I found peace and time for prayer during training, knowing God was there as my personal fitness trainer. On race day I gave all the glory to God as i crossed the finish line; it was an amazing experience. Since then I have completed two triathlons and can't wait for my next race.
